Coronis was founded in 2000 by a team of industry professionals with extensive experience in microelectronics and wireless system design, communication protocol development, and industrialization processes.
Their original goal remains unchanged today: to provide OEM customers with wireless platforms capable of satisfying technical-economic requirements in both mature and emerging low-power wireless networking markets.
The company is the creator of Wavenis®, a technology platform that includes the highly optimized Wavenis RF transceiver and wireless communication protocol stack. Coronis offers system integrators a complete line of wireless products and development platforms, all based on Wavenis technology, which meet the technical and cost requirements of today's innovative ultra-low-powered wireless sensor networks.
Major markets for Coronis technology include smart metering, home comfort, alarms for protecting people and property, home healthcare, industrial automation, centralized building management, access control, cold-chain management, as well as long-range UHF RFID applications for the identification, tracking, and locating people and objects.
In June of 2007, Coronis became part of the Elster Group, the world's largest metering company and supplier of high quality integrated metering and utilization solutions.
Coronis continues to serve its customers independently, providing its Wavenis-based platforms to OEMs and integrators in the growing worldwide smart metering and wireless sensor market. The Wavenis Open Standard Alliance was created in June of 2008 as an independent standards body to drive Wavenis to the next level as an industry standard.
